Helping you to put your legal affairs in order

“It starts with a conversation”

Thomas Hazlewood

Clients often say to me “I’ve have been meaning to do this for years”, “I don’t know what to do” or “I don’t know where to begin” – usually it is a combination of all three.

In searching for the perfect time or having all of the answers ready, nothing gets done.

The reality is: there will always be other demands on your time. I can help you understand and consider your options. The best place to begin is with a conversation.

How I Can Help

Wills

I can help you to put in place your Will that allows you to choose who should benefit from you when you die. Your Will can be simple, or it can be complex – it is entirely up to you. My focus is on making sure that your Will works for you, your situation and achieves your priorities.

Depending upon your circumstances and priorities, I would be able to highlight when more detailed estate planning would be beneficial.

Estate Planning and Trusts

Depending upon your circumstances, trusts can be a really useful tool in this, whether that be a trust within your Will or one that you create during your lifetime. Whilst trusts can be incredibly helpful, that is the case only if they are used correctly – if not they can become a burden. They should therefore only be used if they serve a purpose that improves things for you.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

Lasting Powers of Attorney are an incredibly useful document to have in place in case you lose the ability to make decisions for yourself.

I can help guide you through the key decisions such as who to appoint as at attorney and how they should act, before preparing and registering the completed documents for you so that if the situation occurs, someone that you trust is able to support you.

Probate and Estate Administration

I can help support you and your family when a loved one dies. It can be difficult to know where to turn, what to do or even how to begin. I can guide you through the process.
